I didn't get any submissions for a December newsletter, and I suspect
our newsletter deliverers have other stuff they would rather be
doing. In addition, the "historic" tradition has been not to have a
December newsletter, we will respect our ancient traditions (1977 to
approximately 2001) and skip the December newsletter this year.

This email also makes it sound like he's an obsessive collector of things. It makes you wonder whether the entire first floor of his house is stacked floor to ceiling with stuff that he feels compelled to collect and pack-rat away.
